Divisional Structure & Playoff Format.

New to the league this year is a change to the divisional (flight) format.

Men's League previously ran a league format that consisted of 8 flights, with 8 teams per flight.  In an effort to create an even playing field, flights would be reviewed every 8 weeks and teams would either move up or down based on results.  Playoffs would consist of the bottom seeded teams competing against the highest ranked teams in their respective divisions (3 weeks of playoffs, reseeded after each round).

Playoffs are set to begin Tuesday, September 6, 2022 and will run for 3 weeks.  The Men's League Tips N Tuks wind-up will be held on Tuesday, September 27.  Time TBD.

What's Changed?

Men's League has now been consolidated into 5 Divisions based on past results and new team entries.  Divisions 1 and 2 will remain 8 teams each, however Divisions 3-5 will consist of 16 teams each:

  • Division 1 (Formerly Championship Flight)
  • Division 2 (Formerly 1st Flight)
  • Division 3 (Formerly 2nd & 3rd Flight)
  • Division 4 (Formerly 4th & 5th Flight)
  • Division 5 (Formerly 6th & 7th Flight)

8 team divisions for regular season and playoffs will remain the same as last year in regard to format.  If any re-flighting needs to be done, we will consider the best possible solution.

16 team divisions will compete against the respective teams in their division throughout the season in a typical round robin fashion.  However, come playoff time, the 16 teams will be broken down into two 8-team brackets, based on regular season standings.  The top 8 teams will compete in a bracket, and the bottom 8 teams will compete in a separate bracket.  This will allow for the divisional brackets to shape themselves throughout the season, rather than us adjusting groups in an effort to even things out.
